Application for a Home Boarding Establishment
Animal Boarding Establishments Act 1963
Please complete the following form to apply for a licence to keep a home boarding establishment. The fee is £102.00.
Please note: The licensing year runs from 1 January until 31 December each year. The appropriate fee must be paid in full, there is no provision for a part payment of fees for an application made partway through the licensing year. There are no refunds.
The definition of an animal boarding establishment is defined as any premises (including a private dwelling) where a business is being carried out providing accommodation for other people's dogs/cats. This also includes day boarding and animal creches. It is an offence under the Animal Health Act 1981 to keep an animal boarding establishment without a licence from the Local Authority.
Before a licence can be issued an applicant is requested to give permission for an officer to inspect the premises.
